Historical Background
Nakuru has been ranked as one of the fastest-growing cities in Kenya. Members of the SDA Church must have foreseen this when the idea of beginning an English-speaking congregation to cater for the growing number of professionals and international Adventists in transit arose.
To cater to this need, the Seventh-day Adventist Church – Crater was started as a Sabbath School of Nakuru West SDA Church in October 1994.
Currently, Crater is a District Church in Nakuru East Station, Central Rift Valley Conference, and East Kenya Union Conference.
Vision Statement
In harmony with Bible revelation, Seventh-day Adventists see as the climax of God's plan the restoration of all His creation to full harmony with His perfect will and righteousness.
Mission Statement
The mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church is to call all people to become disciples of Jesus Christ, to proclaim the everlasting gospel embraced by the three angels' messages (Revelation 14:6-12), and to prepare the world for Christ's soon return.

Our Foundation
What We Believe
Seventh-day Adventists accept the Bible as our only creed and hold certain fundamental beliefs to be the teaching of the Holy Scriptures.
The Holy Scriptures
The Bible is the written Word of God, given by divine inspiration through holy men of God who spoke and wrote as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.
The Trinity
There is one God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, a unity of three co-eternal Persons.
Salvation
In infinite love and mercy God made Christ, who knew no sin, to be sin for us, so that in Him we might be made the righteousness of God.
The Second Coming
The second coming of Christ is the blessed hope of the church, the grand climax of the gospel.
