Who We Are

Discover our history, vision, mission, and beliefs

Historical Background

Nakuru has been ranked as one of the fastest-growing cities in Kenya. Members of the SDA Church must have foreseen this when the idea of beginning an English-speaking congregation to cater for the growing number of professionals and international Adventists in transit arose.

To cater to this need, the Seventh-day Adventist Church – Crater was started as a Sabbath School of Nakuru West SDA Church in October 1994. Currently, Crater is a District Church in Nakuru East Station, Central Rift Valley Conference, and East Kenya Union Conference.

Vision Statement

In harmony with Bible revelation, Seventh-day Adventists see as the climax of God's plan the restoration of all His creation to full harmony with His perfect will and righteousness.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church is to call all people to become disciples of Jesus Christ, to proclaim the everlasting gospel embraced by the three angels' messages (Revelation 14:6-12), and to prepare the world for Christ's soon return.
